Ewald Latacz
Ewald Latacz (born June 24, 1885 in Kattowitz (Katowice), dead February 12, 1953 in Frankfurt am Main) was Silesian politician, doctor of law, lawyer in Racibórz since 1913 and Wodzisław Śląski, chairman of Workers Council in Wodzisław Śląski and co-founder secret Upper Silesian Committee in 1918, civil law notary since 1919, co-founder and leader Union of Upper Silesians in the period 1919-1921, spokesman of the Silesian national identity and independence of Upper Silesia, political prisoner from January to spring 1919, accused by German authorities about high treason, civil law notary and lawyer in Berlin in the period 1922-1945, receiver and lawyer oil companies in the period 1922-39, since 1933 usually member of NSDAP (he joint three months after reach authority by Hitler, because he afraid that Nazi Germany will restore accusation about high treason from 1919), member Nazi Union of German Lawyers in the period 1933-1945, in 1936 a candidate of international pacifist organization Corder Catchpool for the lawyer of German pacifist Carl von Ossietzky, in 1940 didn't got the permission of Nazi German judicial authorities of Silesian Province to open law office in Upper Silesia, so never come back into his homeland, in 1945 passed denazification process in Soviet occupation’s zone without some consequences.
